In this section of the Education Quizzes website you will find photographs of beautiful gardens both in the UK and throughout the rest of the world. Gardens from 20 different countries are represented, each with its own particular beauty.
There are many noteworthy fruit and vegetable gardens in the world but our choice has been confined to ornamental gardens because these offer the greatest diversity of colour, shape and design. We reason that vegetable gardening is a non-spectator hobby whilst ornamental gardening is the antithesis - the stunning visual effects of decorative gardens can be enjoyed by young and old, regardless of culture or religion and without regard for levels of knowledge or experience.
We have elected NOT to show the usual 'bullet points' beside the quiz questions, preferring instead to let the splendour of the individual images speak for themselves. Each time you click on one of the multiple choice answers the name and location of the garden will be revealed and we hope you will be encouraged to visit as many as possible.
In some of our quizzes we judiciously crop the images to reveal/enlarge the most salient aspects of the picture but with these quizzes we could not bring ourselves to change the images in any way - you see them at the exact aspect ratio that the photographer intended. Each quiz consists of 10 questions and each question has 4 multiple choice answers. At the top of each quiz you are given a choice of how you want to play it and this affects what happens when you provide an incorrect answer. You can either have the correct answer given immediately, or you can choose to have the questions presented again at the end of the quiz. To print any of the Key Stage 3 quizzes (both questions and answers) click the “Print” link at the bottom of the quiz.
