Weeds are plants in your garden that you consider to be a nuisance! Sometimes a gardener will introduce a plant to an area of his/her garden only to find that it "Escapes" from the area it has been allocated and becomes troublesome in other areas. Typical examples of this are Mint (herb) and Sedum acre (perennial flowering plant), both of which can quickly get out of control and spread to cover large areas where they should not be.
The most common sorts of weed are native species of plant that creep in from neighbouring properties or seeds that drift into your garden where they germinate and take up residence; it is these that are the subject of these quizzes.
Irrespective of whether the weeds are introduced or they come and live with you without your permission, you need to get rid of them! Weeds are often unsightly, they can smother the plants you are cultivating and they can harbour pests and diseases. In addition, some weeds like thistles and nettles can be a danger to your health. The first step in getting rid of weeds is to identify them and we hope these quizzes will help.
