Fictional Creatures 1

In the children’s books of Beatrix Potter we meet such famed characters as Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck and Pigling Bland. In Charlotte’s Web, by E. B. White we see a friendship between a spider and a pig bound for slaughter. And who can forget Watership Down, the classic adventure story in which the heroes are all rabbits? There’s no doubt that birds and beasts have made an impact on the world of fiction.

This is the first of two quizzes on fictional creatures. In it you will find questions on creatures that we have loved and hated, empathised with and not understood! Can you remember what kind of creatures Jonathan Livingston, Kaa and Shardik are? Did Winnie-the-Pooh know an ellyfump, heffalump, hellyfump or a phumple? See whether you can recall the denizens of this quiz on fictional creatures.
