Most of the world is covered by vast seas called 'oceans'.

This quiz addresses part of the requirements of the National Curriculum KS1 for children aged 5 and 6 in years 1 and 2 in Geography. Specifically it looks at oceans and large seas, their names and their positions. It is one of 50 quizzes to help you understand the world around you.

Do you live near the sea? Do you ever go to the seaside? Most of the Earth is covered in water. Lakes and ponds are just a tiny part of that water. There are vast seas positioned all around the continents. Some of the seas are so large that they are called oceans. There are 5 oceans and their names are: Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern and Arctic. This quiz is about those great big oceans and about some of the large seas of the world.
