Syllables
In order to write certain types of poetry, you need to know how many syllables are in a word.

Syllables

Let's have some KS2 English fun with syllables! Syllables are like word beats that help us say words just right. When we write cool poems like haikus or sonnets, knowing syllables is a must. Imagine clapping your hands to say 'syllable' - three claps, three syllables!

Most words are easy with just one syllable, but some are like tongue twisters with 5 or more. Can you handle words with double-figure syllables? Give it a go - say the words out loud and ace this quiz!
