Geology is
the study of the Earth including the materials of which Earth is made, the
structure of those materials and the processes acting upon them. One aspect of
geology is the study of how Earth’s materials, structures, processes and
organisms have changed over time.
Minerals
are one such subject covered under geology. Minerals vary in composition from
pure elements and simple salts to extremely complex silicates with thousands of
known forms.
Did you
know that planet Earth is composed mostly of iron? Earth’s core is mostly
nickel and iron, the mantle is made up of rock containing many minerals. The
rocky surface layer of Earth, its crust, is made up of mostly oxygen, silicon,
aluminium, iron, calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium.
Each quiz consists of 10 questions and each question has 4 multiple choice answers.
