Architects design things, specifically buildings. They are,
if you like, artists on a giant scale. One the most well known and highly
acclaimed architects in England was Sir Christopher Wren. Not only did he design St. Paul's
Cathedral, he was also responsible for rebuilding another 50 churches in London after the Great
Fire in 1666.
Architects tend to work closely with engineers. An architect
may have an idea of how a building will look, but the engineer knows whether it
can be taken from the drawing board and physically built.
