Thomas Edison said, "I never did a day's work in my
life, it was all fun."
If it wasn't for inventors, you wouldn't be reading this
right now! We owe a lot to these clever people who have enriched our lives in
so many ways. Likewise, it's worth tipping your hat to the scientists who have
discovered so much and continue to do so on a daily basis. They are exploring
not only planet earth, but the universe as a whole.
One of the most well known scientists of the 20th century
was of course Albert Einstein. Not surprisingly, he received the Nobel Prize in
Physics in 1921.
Science has a reputation for being a dry, humourless
subject. However in recent times there have been some fascinating science
programmes on television. It helps to have a young and enthusiastic scientist
who is able to bring complex issues to a level of understanding for the layman.
Dr Brian Cox is a perfect example and no doubt has piqued people's interest in
the world of science.
