Grade 3 Reading Foundation - Word Recognition 2

This English Language quiz is called 'Word Recognition 2' and it has been written by teachers to help you if you are studying the subject at elementary school. Playing educational quizzes is an enjoyable way to learn if you are in the 3rd, 4th or 5th grade - aged 8 to 11.

'Your' is about owning and 'you're' is about shortening. 'Your' is a possessive adjective which is used to show possession: 'Your exam results were very good'. 'You're' is a contraction (shortened form) of 'you are'.

Once you have learned (and, more importantly, remembered) the two words, their meanings and when to use which one, you should never make the mistake of getting the two words mixed up again. Even though these words are very common in the English language, plenty of people still get them wrong. Make sure you are not one of them and play this quiz until you are sure you know what you are doing, and why!

This elementary school English quiz will test your skills on these two everyday words. See if you can get full marks.
