Author - Terry Pratchett

Terence David John Pratchett was born in Buckinghamshire in 1948. He wrote his first story, The Hades Business, (also known as Business Rivals) while still at school, and it was later published in the magazine Science Fantasy. After leaving school Pratchett worked as a journalist and also as a press officer for the Central Electricity Generating Board, before his first Discworld novel, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983.

Terry Pratchett went on to write 41 Discworld novels and 14 other novels. In addition he wrote countless short stories and, together with Stephen Baxter, also wrote the Long Earth book series. He died on the morning of 12th March 2015 from Alzheimer's disease which he had suffered from for 8 years.
