You may have heard that there are 30 cm in 1 foot. This is an approximatuion. There are actually 30.48 cm in a foot

1 kg = 1,000 g, so to convert grams to kg, just divide by 1,000: 1,000,000 ÷ 1,000 = 1,000

First, work out Sophie's weight in pounds: 6 x 14 = 84.
Next, convert pounds into kg by multiplying by 0.45: 84 x 0.45 = 37.8 |
1 tonne = 1,000 kg, and 1 kg = 1,000 g. So, to convert tonnnes to grams, multiply by (1,000 x 1,000) = 1,000,000

There are 1 million cm³ in 1 m³, and 1,000 mm³ in 1 cm³, so there are 1,000 x 1,000,000 mm³ in 1 m³

As well as being one-thousandth of a litre, a millilitre is also the same size as 1 cubic centimetre

1 km = 1,000 metres, and 1 metre = 100 cm, so, 1 million cm is equal to 10 km

Of course there are 1,000 millimetres in 1 metre, not in 1 centimetre!
