Music Theory Quiz - Grade 1 - Time Signatures (Questions)

This time signatures quiz looks at the two numbers at the beginning of a piece of music.

Music is split up using bar lines, which are vertical lines running straight through the five lines and spaces (in musical terms we call the lines/spaces a 'stave'). Using the bars, music is divided into different count groupings. Some pieces might be counting in 2s, some might be counting in 3s and some may even be counting in 5s! We are told at the beginning of the music what the counting will be through two numbers placed on top of each other called the 'Time Signature'. The top number is the amount; the bottom number is the type of beat.
