This quiz is our third and final KS1 English and Literacy quiz about Irregular Past Tense. This quiz asks children to spot which words are verbs that are written in the past tense. This will help their understanding of tenses, and that you can’t always add ‘ed’ to show that a verb happened in the past. In order for children to get a firm understanding of irregular past tense verbs, make sure they play all three of our quizzes on this subject.
There are some words that, when we say they have happened already, completely change. If I bite you, I’m doing it now but if I did it yesterday, then I bit you. The word ‘bite’ changes to ‘bit’. There are a few words that change like this and they are called irregular past tenses.
