Writing - Guess the Missing Word helps children in KS1 read a sentence and notice what is wrong with it. By being able to spot missing words, children will be able to develop their sentence level skills. This will enhance their editing abilities, as requested in the National Curriculum for Year 2 pupils. It will also give them a firm foundation when it comes to English and literacy.
Sometimes, we think too fast and our hands can’t keep up. When this happens, we forget words or think we have written everything but then find out we haven’t. That’s why editing, or reading through our work, is so important. Have a look at these sentences and see what is missing.
