This quiz addresses the requirements of the National Curriculum KS1 History for children aged 5, 6 and 7 in years 1 and 2. Specifically this quiz is aimed at the section dealing with developing an awareness of the past and using common words and phrases relating to the passing of time. This will improve their vocabulary skills.
As KS1 children develop an awareness of how units of time are used and how time 'works', they begin to understand how to talk about things which happened in the past using the correct words. They also develop an awareness of the difference between things which happened in the very recent past, within their lifetimes or many years ago.
