Most of your KS3 Maths work on measuring will be to do with measuring 2D shapes - their length, area, perimeter and so on. You'll also look at 3D shapes like cubes or pyramids and maybe have to measure their volume of capacity. But what about 4D? You may be surprised to learn that there is a fourth dimension and you'll have to measure that too. Its name - time.
Every day of your life you will almost certainly look at a watch or a clock - probably many times. If you don't want to be late you need to know how long things will take and what time it is now. It pays to get to know about measuring time and how to do the calculations. I'm sure you know that there are 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour and 24 hours in a day. That's good - now use this information to solve the problems in the quiz below.
The following questions will give you plenty of practise at solving problems which involve measuring time. Choose your answers carefully and, as always, take your time!
