They can, however, be vital parts of a novel, play, film or television programme - though they have less of an impact in radio dramas it must be said! The right setting can summon up the desired emotion in readers – from the fear inducing castle in Bram Stoker’s Dracula for example, to the friendly, homely yet magical house of Tom Bombadil in J.R.R.
