Story 1 - Sinking Boat

The boat sailed into the sea. Then the man and boy saw a hole in the boat. Water came into the boat. “The boat is sinking,” the man said.

“We need to get the water out of the boat,” the boy said. The boy was scared. The man grabbed a bucket. He put the bucket into the water. The water was in the bottom of the boat. He dumped the water out.

The boy thought, I hope we don’t sink.

Story 2 - Sick Birthday

It was my birthday. I was turning 6 years old, but I woke up feeling bad. My head hurt. I didn’t want to be sick on my birthday, but I was. I stayed in bed all day. There was nothing I could do. I was sick. Mom made me a cake. She let me eat some of it. I also got to open my presents.

“I hope you feel better,” Mom said.

“Thanks,” I said.

Dad came home. He didn’t know I was sick. “I got you a puppy. I know that will make you happy on your birthday.” Dad said to me.
