Counting in twos, both forward and back, is a useful and valuable mathematical skill. Not only is the two times table the first one a child will encounter, it also helps with recognizing number patterns, understanding odd and even, and learning how to count objects more quickly. It's worth remembering also that counting forward or back in twos can also apply to odd numbers!
