Story - A Talking Fish

Sam spent many hours during the summer fishing in the local pond. Sam had found the best spot to fish. No one knew about this spot. Today, Sam had been at his fishing spot for about two hours without catching anything.

Then Sam's line started to tug. Excited, Sam quickly reeled in the line. A big carp was on the end of his fishing line. He knew it was his lucky bait. Sam just stared at the big carp.

"Hey, would you get this hook out of my mouth, please?" the big carp said to Sam. Sam couldn't believe it. His fish was talking to him.

"What did you say?" Sam stared in disbelief.

"I said to get this hook out of my mouth. It is starting to hurt," the big carp said louder.

"Of course," Sam said. He removed the hook and held the carp around its middle. "So, you can talk?"

"Yes, I can. It was that lucky bait you threw me," the big carp answered.

"What is your name? How old are you? My name is Sam," Sam stated quickly. He didn't know how to begin to talk to a talking fish.

"Whoa! One question at a time, please," the big carp said. Both Sam and the fish walked away talking all the way back home.
