If you have a problem that states that the value of A = 8 and the ratio of A:B = 2:5, you will need to determine how many times the number A is divisible by the corresponding portion of the ratio. In this case, the “2” is the corresponding portion so we would divide 8 by 2 or 8 ÷ 2 = 4. We then must multiply the answer “4” by the portion of the ratio representing B. In this case the number “5” is the portion of the ratio representing B so we multiply 4 x 5 = 20. This then shows us that the ratio of A:B is 2:5 and A = 4 and B = 20.

Since A = 15 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ratio which is 5 so 15 ÷ 5 = 3. We then multiply 3 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 9 so 3 x 9 = 27. This makes A:B is 5:9 and A = 3 and B = 27. Answer (d) is the correct answer

Since A = 32 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ratio which is 12 so 32 ÷ 12 = 2.66. As the last number to the right of the decimal is a 6 we can round this number up to read 2.7. We then multiply 2.7 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 18 so 18 x 2.7 = 48.6. This makes A:B is 12:18 and A = 2.7 and B = 48.6. Answer (a) is the correct answer

Since A = 19 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ratio which is 10 so 19 ÷ 10 = 1.9. We then multiply 1.9 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 20 so 20 x 1.9 = 38. This makes A:B is 10:20 and A = 1.9 and B = 38. Answer (b) is the correct answer

Since A = 45 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ration which is 15 so 45 ÷ 15 = 3. We then multiply 3 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 24 so 24 x 3 = 72. This makes A:B is 15:24 and A = 3 and B = 72. Answer (c) is the correct answer

Since A = 27 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ratio which is 5 so 27 ÷ 5 = 5.4. We then multiply 5.4 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 2 so 5.4 x 2 = 10.8. This makes A:B is 5:2 and A = 5.4 and B = 10.8. Answer (a) is the correct answer

Since A = 63 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ratio which is 22 so 63 ÷ 22 = 2.86. As the last number to the right of the decimal is a 6 we can round this number up to read 2.9. We then multiply 2.9 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 37 so 2.9 x 37 = 107.3. This makes A:B is 22:37 and A = 2.9 and B = 107.3. Answer (b) is the correct answer

Since A = 10 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ratio which is 7 so 10 ÷ 7 = 1.42. As the last number to the right of the decimal is a 2 we can round this number down to read 1.4. We then multiply 1.4 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 8 so 1.4 x 8 = 11.2. This makes A:B is 7:8 and A = 1.4 and B = 11.2. Answer (d) is the correct answer

Since A = 78 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ratio which is 6 so 78 ÷ 6 = 13. We then multiply 13 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 14 so 13 x 14 = 182. This makes A:B is 6:14 and A = 13 and B = 182. Answer (b) is the correct answer

Since A = 123 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ratio which is 21 so 123 ÷ 21 = 5.857. As the last number to the right of the decimal is a 7 we can round this number up to read 5.86. We then multiply 5.86 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 46 so 5.86 x 46 = 269.56. As the last number to the right of the decimal is a 6 we can round this number up to read 269.6. This makes A:B is 21:46 and A = 5.86 and B = 269.6. Answer (a) is the correct answer

Since A = 96 we need to divide A by the corresponding portion of the ratio which is 33 so 96 ÷ 33 = 2.90. We then multiply 2.90 which can be shortened to 2.9 by the portion of the ratio of B which is 13 so 2.9 x 13 = 37.7. This makes A:B is 33:13 and A = 2.9 and B = 37.7. Answer (c) is the correct answer
