Spanish Easy Review Quiz - Grammar - The Role of the Word 'Of' (Questions)

This Spanish Easy Review grammar quiz will test you on the role of the word 'of'. As you begin to put Spanish words together, you will learn that the order in which the words are used in a sentence is different from how they are used in English. For example, in English we would say 'white house' but in Spanish they would say 'house of white.' Notice the 'of' between 'house' and 'white'. In Spanish, in the early stages of learning Spanish that is, 'white house' would be written out as casa de blanca. Did you notice that because the word casa is feminine so too the color was also written in the feminine version?

Hat in Spanish is (el) sombrero and it is a masculine word. If we were to say 'white hat' it would be written as sombrero de blanco. Notice that the color takes on the masculine form of the object/subject.

The Spanish word de comes before an adjective. An adjective is a word that describes, identifies or further defines a noun or pronoun, i.e. a person, place or thing. When you see the word de written in Spanish you know that the word before it is the person, place or thing and the word after it is the adjective. This actually makes it easier to identify the type of words in Spanish a bit easier than it is to identify them in English.

Using your bank of Spanish vocabulary words, below you will find a listing of ten nouns and ten adjectives. Locate the correct answer as it should be stated in Spanish.
