Jane Austen was born in 1775 into a close-knit family with 8 children. She started writing as a teenager and her first novel, Sense and Sensibility, was published in 1811. Other works, including her favourite and probably most famous Pride and Prejudice. She died in 1817 when still young and more of her work was published after her death.
