Negative numbers are denoted by a minus sign in front of them, such as 8. In this, the first of our difficult quizzes on negative numbers, you will get some more practice in using the number line to add and subtract numbers.
Unlike the first 11plus Maths quiz on negative numbers, you aren't given a starting point on the number line: don't worry, you can start wherever you like and can add/subtract the numbers in any order you like, but don't forget to apply the following rule: for negative numbers move to the left along the number line BUT for positive numbers move to the right along the number line.
See if you can get top marks if you are struggling with this quiz, make sure you play our other one first.
