Music Theory Quiz - Grade 4 - Triads and Chords (Questions)

You will already be familiar with a tonic triad - a chord using the 1st, 3rd and 5th degrees. You now need to be able to recognise triads starting on the 4th and 5th degrees which are called subdominant (starting on 4th degree) and dominant (starting on 5th degree) triads. Roman numerals are used to describe these primary triads, in uppercase if the triad is major and in lowercase if it is minor. Use this quiz to practise recognising them!
