Sir Alec became a famous actor, appearing in films such as The Bridge on the River Kwai and Doctor Zhivago. He played Fagin in Oliver Twist and is perhaps best remembered as Jedi Knight Obi Wan Kenobi who he played in the original three Star Wars films. Sir Alec died on 5th August 2000, aged 86

Heyerdahl was a scientist who, in 1947, crossed the Pacific from South America to Polynesia, a distance of 5,000 miles (8,000 km) on a small wooden raft. He did this amazing feat in order to demonstrate how ancient people were capable of making long sea journeys. Heyerdahl died on April 18th 2002, aged 88

On November 15th 1958, whilst on set recording a fighting scene for the film Solomon and Sheba, Tyrone Power suffered a heart attack from which he died on his way to hospital. He was 44 years old
