This quiz gives more insight into when capital letters are used. It extends the suggestion that capital letters should be used for proper nouns and is targeted for grade 3 children. Knowing that book titles should begin with a capital letter will expand children’s English and literacy knowledge.
When you read your favorite book, you will notice that the first letter of each word in the title begins with a capital letter. However, some of the smaller words won’t be capitalized, like ‘to’ or ‘in’. You need a capital letter for all of the main words but not the connecting ones like ‘and’. But no matter what size the first word is, it will always be a capital.
