Danielle Schuelein-Steel was born in New York in 1947. She worked as a PR representative and in advertising before her writing career began. Her first novel Going Home was published in 1973 but her first best seller The Promise did not come until 1978 - three books later. Since then she has written over 100 books, most of which have been bestsellers.
Danielle’s private life has been busy! She has been married and divorced five times and has raised nine children. In addition she has owned an art gallery dedicated to emerging contemporary artists and established two charities – one to help the homeless and another, the Nick Traina Foundation, named after her son and for the benefit of those with mental disorders.
