Fascinating Fact:

Subject pronouns do actions, I, you, he, she, we, they, The team won and they cheered for two minutes.

In KS3 English, subject pronouns replace naming words that do the action in a sentence. You will match the pronoun to the verb, avoid repetition, and keep sentences clear, for example, Sara ran. She finished first.

  • Subject pronoun: A pronoun that does the action in a sentence, such as I, you, he, she, it, we, they.
  • Object pronoun: A pronoun that receives the action, such as me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
  • Agreement: Making sure the pronoun and verb fit together, for example she runs and they run.
What is a subject pronoun in KS3 English?

A subject pronoun replaces the naming word that does the action. Examples are I, you, he, she, it, we, they, as in They arrived on time.

How do I choose between I and me?

Use I when it is the subject, for example Ben and I went. Use me when it is the object, for example She called Ben and me.

What is the difference between they and them?

They is a subject pronoun, as in They won. Them is an object pronoun, as in We congratulated them after the match.
