Place Value Illustration | The word "Value"
The value of a digit depends on its place within a number.

Place Value 3 (Very Easy)

Welcome to the third quiz in our Very Easy series of Eleven Plus maths quizzes on Place Value. This is probably the most straightforward topic you will cover in preparation for your exams but, like everything else in life, it’s only easy if you know what you are doing! If you have played the previous two quizzes, then I’m sure you will have the hang of place values by now, so this quiz should be a doddle. If you haven’t tried them yet, then I suggest you go back to them now. Once you’ve mastered them, this quiz will give you another opportunity to practice with four-digit numbers, and hone your skills.

Here’s a quick recap

Reading from the right (after any decimal point):

  • The first number is in the ones’ position
  • The second number is in the tens’ position
  • The third number is in the hundreds’ position
  • The fourth number is in the thousands’ position

Okay then, we are ready to take the quiz. Read each question carefully before you pick our answer – good luck!
