This quiz reminds elementary school children that every sentence must contain a few key ingredients: capital letters, periods and finger spaces. This activity is primarily aimed at younger children but can be used to solidify what an older pupil already knows. Using capital letters, periods and finger spaces improves a child’s literacy and all-round English skills.

All sentences should begin with a capital letter. To know when a sentence has finished, we write a period. When reading your book, you pause when you see a period and take a breath. When you write, you need to remember that the reader needs to breathe, so don’t forget periods! Can you spot the perfect sentences?
