Learning the 6 times table involves multiplying numbers by 6. There are various ways of multiplying numbers by 6. Taking 7 x 6 as an example, we could multiply the 7 by 5 to get 35 and then add another 7 to reach 42. However that's a rather longwinded way. Learning the times tables off by heart makes things a lot easier!

To multiply a number by 9 first times it by 10 and then take away the first number, so 6 x 10 = 60 and 60 - 6 = 54
