Water is one of the topics covered in KS1 PSHE lessons. Children are taught the sources of water, how they can be used, and the importance of hydration and drinking enough water on a daily basis.

The main ingredient in our bodies is water. Our planet, Earth, despite its name is mostly water - at least on its surface. Vegetables contain lots of water too - a cucumber is 96% water!

It's a good thing that water is abundant. It plays an important role in keeping us healthy and we must make sure that we drink enough water every day to help us grow big and strong. So, do you know where water comes from and how we should use it? Find out by playing this quiz.

When your body does not have enough water, it can start to feel tired and you might even get a headache. This is your body’s way of asking for a drink and telling you that it is feeling dehydrated

When you exercise, your body sweats and this removes some of the water you need. It is important that you drink some extra water afterwards to replace what has been lost

Water has many uses in the body including helping us to concentrate, helping to digest our food and remove the waste and it keeps our skin looking nice and fresh. Although it has a lot of uses, water does not help us to breathe
