29 June 2025 - AI News Quiz for Children Aged 11-14 Years Old

AI is changing the world in amazing, funny and sometimes totally weird ways! In this quiz, you’ll discover how artificial intelligence helped design toys, write poems, spot pollution, and even protect hedgehogs from danger!

All 10 questions are based on real stories from 23–29 June 2025, and they’ve been written specially for children aged 11 to 14. Some questions are serious, some are silly—and all of them are a chance to learn something cool about AI.

Don’t worry if you don’t know the answers—just guess! You’ll be told right away if you got it right, and each question comes with a short explanation to help you learn even more. Let’s see how much AI action you can spot from this week’s news!

1 .
What did an AI accidentally ask a famous robot dog to do this week?
Bake us cookies
Paint its collar bright pink
Sing “Happy Birthday” to itself
Do a surprise dance
A clever AI once mistakenly told Boston Dynamics’ robot dog Spot to perform a surprise dance routine! Engineers had to fix the command, but the brief boogie made everyone chuckle. It shows AI can be playful—but we still need to teach it to follow our instructions exactly.
2 .
What new trick did AI learn to help UK doctors this week?
Detect if you're faking a cough
Spot dangerous health risks before they happen
Translate doctor’s handwriting into emojis
Recommend the best hospital snacks
The NHS is using AI to scan huge amounts of health data and look for signs that something might go wrong—like a pattern of missed diagnoses or sudden spikes in illness. It’s like having a high-tech early warning system to keep patients safer.
3 .
How are UK kids using AI to help animals?
Teaching parrots to order snacks
Building robot horses for fun
Spotting hedgehogs before they get hurt
Making cows moo in different accents
A team of students used AI to help track and protect hedgehogs. Their invention spots hedgehogs near roads or gardens, so people can help them stay safe. It’s a brilliant example of young minds using technology to protect wildlife!
4 .
What is the UK’s “AI Airlock” programme trying to do?
Keep robots from escaping hospitals
Test new AI safely before it’s used
Send AI balloons into outer space
Trap bad code in a digital cage
The NHS and UK government launched the AI Airlock to give AI tools a “test zone” before they’re used in real hospitals. This helps spot problems early and makes sure only safe, useful AI systems go live. It’s like a mini bootcamp for tech!
5 .
What wild fashion idea did AI help create this week?
A hoodie made of spaghetti
Shoes that grow like plants
Outfits inspired by sandwiches
Trousers that sing your playlist
At a wacky fashion show, an AI was asked to design clothing based on sandwich types. The results? Outfits that looked like BLTs and tuna melts! It’s a playful reminder that AI can be creative—but also a bit ridiculous.
6 .
What strange thing did an AI help turn into music?
The sound of leaves falling
Static from an old TV
A cat’s meow played backwards
A sleeping person’s dreams
An artist used AI to turn the brainwaves from his dreams into musical notes. The result? A haunting and dreamy tune that literally came from his head! It’s a new way AI is helping people express thoughts and emotions in creative ways.
7 .
How are UK scientists using AI to help the planet?
Count seagulls on beaches
Design biodegradable glitter
Find hidden carbon emissions
Make plants grow in total darkness
UK researchers are using AI to scan maps and spot sneaky carbon emissions that are warming the Earth. The AI helps pinpoint problem areas more accurately and quickly than humans can—making it a powerful eco-friendly detective.
8 .
What job did a radio station give to AI for a day?
Guest presenter on a live show
Weather sound effects designer
Microphone polisher
Jingle writer
A UK radio station let AI co-host part of a live show, choosing songs, telling jokes, and chatting with the real presenter. It wasn’t perfect, but it showed how AI might one day have a voice on air—though probably not one that sings!
9 .
What playful idea did a toy company use AI for this week?
To design cuddly robot dragons
To invent toys that vanish on command
To build sandcastles that walk
To create board games with no rules
A UK toy company used AI to help design fun, interactive robot dragons that move, light up, and respond to touch. The AI helped figure out which features kids love most, turning tech into something snuggly and silly.
10 .
What creative thing did AI do with poetry this week?
Write haikus about breakfast
Make a poem that smells like cheese
Translate poems into emojis
Help school pupils write eco-themed poems
In a UK classroom project, students used AI to help them write poems about the environment. The AI gave ideas, suggested rhymes, and even helped with tricky lines. It’s a cool way to mix creativity and technology—without losing the human touch.
