Fascinating Fact:

The average African elephant weighs about seven times more than a horse, 4,200 kg compared to 600 kg.

In KS3 Maths Times Tables, mastering the 7s supports mental maths across topics. Build facts from known ones (e.g., 7 × 8 = 5 × 8 + 2 × 8 = 56), use skip-counting, and check with inverse division.

What is the quickest way to learn the 7 times table?

Link to 5s and 2s: 7n = 5n + 2n. Practise anchors (7 × 5 = 35, 7 × 10 = 70) and skip-count: 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42…

Is there a simple trick for 7 times table?

Use decomposing: 7 × 9 = (7 × 10) − (7 × 1) = 70 − 7 = 63. Doubling and adjusting also helps: 7 × 6 = 7 × 3 doubled = 42.

How do I divide by 7 using times tables?

Use the inverse. If 7 × 8 = 56, then 56 ÷ 7 = 8. Use factor pairs: 84 = 7 × 12, so 84 ÷ 7 = 12.

  • Multiple: A result in a times table; for 7 it’s 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, …
  • Factor: A whole number that divides another exactly; 7 is a factor of 63 because 63 ÷ 7 = 9.
  • Product: The answer to a multiplication, for example the product of 7 and 6 is 42.
