In Specialist Music Theory Grade 1 Scales Part 1, you’ll meet the C major scale and learn how its notes step up and down. You’ll link sound (solfa) to letter names and simple keyboard fingering.

  • Scale: A set of notes in order, going up or down, that gives music its key.
  • Tonic: The home note of the key; in C major the tonic is C.
  • Dominant: The fifth note of the key; in C major the dominant is G.
