Arizona becme the 48th state to join the Union on Valentine's Day (February the 14th) 1912.

The city of Tombstone, Arizona., was the site of the Wild-West's most famous shoot-out - the gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

Arizona is the sixth largest state in the USA, covering an area of 113,990 square miles or 295,234 square km - that's roughly the same size as Italy!.

Adopted in 1986, Arizona's state amphibian is, appropriately, the Arizona tree frog.

Arizona has a larger percentage of its land (almost 25%) designated Indian Land than any other state.
