What is a verb in KS1?

A verb in KS1 is a doing word. It tells what a person, animal or thing is doing, such as run, jump, learn or describe.

What does learn mean for children?

For children, learn means finding out something new and remembering it. Children learn when they listen, read, practise and ask questions.

What does describe mean in simple words?

Describe means to tell what something is like. Children describe by using words about colour, size, shape, sound or how something feels.
