  • Benefit: To help someone or make something better.
  • Explain: To tell someone clearly so they can understand.
What is a verb in KS1?

A verb in KS1 is a doing word. It tells what a person, animal or thing is doing, such as run, jump, benefit or explain.

What does explain mean for children?

For children, explain means telling something clearly so another person understands it. You can explain an answer, a rule, an idea or a problem.

What does benefit mean in simple words?

Benefit means to help or do good. Something can benefit a person when it makes life easier, safer, healthier or better in some way.
