Fascinating Fact:

You can search a book for a word by checking the pages. That means you look to find it.

In KS1 Vocabulary Age 6, children learn that verbs are doing words. Verbs show actions, helping children understand what is happening when they read or write a sentence.

  • Verb: A word that shows an action or what someone or something is doing.
  • Action: Something a person or thing does, such as run, clap or sleep.
  • Sentence: A group of words that makes a complete idea.
