Famous Resignations Quiz

In January 2020 the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan Windsor, announced their intention to “step back” from their positions as senior royals. This was not the first time a member of the royal family had resigned their post. In 1936 the uncle of Elizabeth II abdicated his throne in order to marry an American divorcee.

But it’s not just royals who have resigned, as we shall see in this quiz all about famous resignations. We'll find out about prime ministers and other politicians, as well as pop stars, disk jockeys and newsreaders too. How many of them will you remember?

Some of these might only be known to people of a certain age, and some are quite obscure. Let’s see whether or not you can score a perfect ten out of ten total, or whether you have already “resigned” yourself to a lesser score! Good luck!
