Famous Gardens - British Gardens
Visiting gardens in the warm months is a real treat.

Famous Gardens - British Gardens

The British Isles is blessed with an ideal climate for gardening. The frequent rain that makes our rolling countryside so verdant provides gardening conditions that many of the world's gardeners can only dream about. Being surrounded by sea we are cushioned against the biting cold and searing heat experienced by many countries at the same latitude. If that were not enough, we also have an abundance of deep and fertile soil.

It is also fortunate that the British Isles have produced some of the world's most imaginative garden designers. No man lives long enough to see a magnificent garden reach maturity and we should therefore be thankful that our forebears devoted the time to plant the great gardens we enjoy today.
