How do I ask someone’s name in French at KS3?

You can ask a friend “Comment tu t’appelles ?” and a teacher or stranger “Comment vous appelez-vous ?”. The pronoun you choose shows how formal you are being.

What is the difference between tu and vous in French?

“Tu” is informal and used with one person you know well. “Vous” is formal for one person you do not know well, and it is also used when talking to more than one person.

What are some easy French phrases to use in the classroom?

Useful classroom phrases include greetings, asking for help, and polite words like “s’il vous plaît” and “merci”. These phrases help you take part in lessons more confidently.
