Vocabulary - For the Love of Sports!

Do you love to play sports? Playing any sport is a great, healthy way to stay in shape, even if your sport is just walking or jogging. Some people, however, love to participate in leagues such as bowling leagues or baseball leagues or football leagues. Not only does it help tone your body but it’s a way to meet new people and make lots of friends. Sports is loved in virtually every country of the world. Because sports is so important to so many people, in this Spanish Medium Review quiz you will be looking at a variety of different sports.

The Olympics is one avenue through which literally millions of people show their love of sports. In short, sports is almost a language of its own but since you are in the process of learning Spanish, we think that this would be a good time for your to learn some Spanish vocabulary words that involve sports. Did you notice the difference between football and soccer. In many countries, soccer is football so to make it clear that you are talking about the American version of football it is stated as 'fútbol americano'. Remember that if you do not include 'americano' it will simply mean soccer. In addition, in this instance you do not have to capitalize 'americano'.
