WHAT ARE PENGUINS?
Penguins are birds. They are black on the outside and white on their bellies. They waddle back and forth. They have webbed feet. They are short.

WHAT DO THEY EAT?
Penguins eat mostly fish. They will eat other small animals found in the water. Penguins eat what they can get with their flippers.

WHERE DO THEY LIVE?
Penguins live in the water and on land. Some penguins live in cold places. Other penguins live in warm places. Some penguins live in zoos.

WHAT EATS PENGUINS?
Sharks and whales live in the water with the penguins. Sometimes, they will eat penguins for their food. It is good that penguins can live on land. They can get away from sharks and whales.

Chocolate – a type of ice cream that is brown in color
Dairy – food or drinks made of milk
Dessert – a sweet treat you eat after a meal
Flavor – the way a food or drink tastes
Frozen – to be in the cold for a long time
Homemade – to be made from a person and not to buy from a store
Ingredients – the parts or foods of a dish
Recipe – steps showing how to make a dish
Scoop – to dig out with a spoon
Vanilla – a type of ice cream that is white in color
