Okay, so what exactly is endocrinology? Endocrinology is a branch found under biology. It is the study of the endocrine system or the series of glands that secrete hormones into the circulatory system. The major endocrine glands include the pineal gland, pituitary gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, hypothalamus, gastrointestinal tract and the adrenal glands. Endocrine glands are “ductless”.

Now let’s learn a little more about each gland and other functions of the endocrine system (see below).
