Spelling - Spelling Baseball - 3rd Base

In this Spanish Difficult Review quiz you will continue playing baseball. That is, a spelling baseball game, so let’s get to 3rd base! You made it to 1st base, then you made it to 2nd base – now it is time to get to 3rd base!

Playing Spelling Baseball is a great and fun way to test just how well you cannot only spell, but how well you remember your Spanish vocabulary words, as well as how to place them in the correct order when used with other words. If you have already taken the Spanish Difficult Review quizzes titled Spelling Baseball – 1st Base! and Spelling Baseball – 2nd Base! (which you should have if you are here now and trying to work on getting to 3rd base), then you know that in Spelling Baseball – 1st Base! you had to properly translate two words together while in Spelling Baseball – 2nd Base! you had to translate three words together.

Now it is time to translate simple sentences into Spanish and/or translate simple sentences into English. Be careful to also pay attention to verb tense. Since you know how the game is played – it is time to get up to the plate and start swinging!

Candice is my sister-in-law.
Candice es mi cuñado.
Candice es mi hermana.
Candice es mi cuñada.
Candice es mi hermano.
Each sentence has correctly translated Candice is my. The first answer reads: Candice is my brother-in-law. The second answer reads: Candice is my sister. The last answer reads: Candice is my brother. Finally, the third answer reads: Candice is my sister-in-law. Do not confuse hermana with cuñada.

The light is light.
La luz es suave.
La luz es brillante.
La luz es pequeña.
La luz es ligera.
This one might be a little tricky because the word light has two different meanings here. The first refers to the source of light while the second refers to color or shade such as it is a 'light shade of color'. In Spanish, there are two different words used to describe the two different types of light. The first answer reads: The light is soft. The second answer reads: The light is bright. The third answer reads: The light is small. Finally, the last answer reads: The light is light.

Jennifer compró tocino en la tienda.
Jennifer compromised on the time.
Jennifer ate toast on the terrace.
Jennifer bought bacon at the store.
Jennifer runs track at the field.
The verb shown in the given sentence is a past tense verb which means that the last answer can be eliminate as it has used a present tense verb form. The sentence reads: Jennifer bought bacon at the store.

Peter sees the picture.
Can it be the picture?
The given sentence is in the form of a question. The first and third answers show a statement and are translated incorrectly. The sentence reads: May I see the picture?

Madre vivió la respiración del bebé en el florero.

Every answer has correctly translated mother and 'the baby’s breath in the vase'. The second answer reads: Mother liked the baby’s breath in the vase. The third answer reads: Mother lived the baby’s breath in the vase. The last answer reads: Mother won the baby’s breath in the vase. The first answer reads: Mother put the baby’s breath in the vase.

The athlete has bad manners.
El atleta tiene mala dentadura.
El atleta tiene malos maneras.
El atleta tiene malos amigos.
El atleta tiene malas temporadas.
Each answer has correctly translated 'The athlete has bad'. The first answer reads: The athlete has bad teeth. The third answer reads: The athlete has bad friends. The last answer reads: The athlete has bad seasons. And, finally, the second answer reads: The athlete has bad manners.

Mi hermano odia las espinacas.
My brother hears the sparrows.
My brother owns the briefcase.
My brother hates spinach.
My brother will act less silly.
The verb shown in the given sentence is a present tense verb which means that the last answer can be eliminate as it has used a future tense verb form. The sentence reads: My brother hates spinach.

Davíd encontró una nueva placa de licencia.
David encountered a new place of business.
David found a new place of learning.
David found a new plastic license.
David found a new license plate.
Each answer has correctly translated 'David found (or encountered) a new'. However, the sentence correctly reads: David found a new license plate.

Each answer has correctly translated 'I need my'. The second answer reads: I need my laundry. The third answer reads: I need my radish. The last answer reads: I need my wrench. Finally, the first answer reads: I need my luggage.
