First graders should begin to write informative pieces using the correct format. In this quiz, the students will have practice learning what should be included in the piece.

Girls and boys learn at school.
It is hard to learn at school.
All schools are big.
The school is very cold.
This is a fact that can be proven to be true. The other sentences are opinions.

What is a fact about colors?
Colors are pretty.
Black is a dark color.
Red is the best color.
I like blue the best.
This sentence can be proven to be true.

Topic: Horses
My topic is horses.
Horses eat hay on a farm.

There are many animals on farms.
Providing where the reader can find more information is a good closure sentence.
