Grade 2 Reading Information - Word Meanings

Sometimes we come across a word that we are not sure of the meaning. It is helpful to read the whole sentence or paragraph as this puts our puzzling word in context. Then we are able to guess what the word might mean. Try this quiz and see if you can guess the meanings of the words in capitals.

An echo is a sound that is repeated back due to it bouncing off the walls in a tight space like a cave.

To keep away from.

If the children have the words on their paper, they must have written exactly what was on the board.
