This is the first of two quizzes on French nouns which are useful to know. In our other quizzes on nouns we look at French names for items related to a specific subject, such as places, occupations, family and friends or food and drink. In this one we have a selection of forty French nouns with no specific theme. Have a go and see how many questions you can get right first time. It’s a great way to revise for your GCSE exams.

In each question you will be given a word or words in English. All you have to do is choose the French equivalent from the four choices offered.
